New funds available for farm diversification projects
The RDPE Growth Programme has re-opened to allow new applications to receive grants. The minimum grant amount available is £20,000 and a maximum of Approximately £175,000 and are funded by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EADRD). There are three types of grants available to different projects categories.
The 3 types of grants available:
Business development - For small businesses or farmers looking to diversify their business. The grants can assist with the construction or renovation of buildings and buying new equipment and machinery.
Food processing - For food and drink businesses that process Annex I agricultural and horticultural products which include meat, milk, grain, root vegetables and much more.

How to apply:There is a two-step application process in order to receive a grant. Firstly, any interested party should submit an expression of interest to inform what project is planned, and how the grant could help. Once submitted, all applications will be assessed by the Rural Payments Agency (RPA), if your expression of interest is deemed suitable, a full application will need to be submitted.
The deadline for the Expression of Interest is Midnight on 16 February 2020.
